MADBH & THE HARLOTS
Madbh is the actual personification of the innocence and beauty that so much art focuses on and pursues, yet the name of her group tips the hat to the other side of the female archetype.
As a modern folk artist, the process of writing songs for Madbh is more like weaving. She collects all of life's sensory information and poetically stitches her tales together, drawing the listener into her emotional landscape of myths, dreamscapes, sensual passions and intimate joys.

She envelops the listener in a many coloured wrap of enchantment that warms your soul and has you humming her tunes for days to come. Her voice is pure and her tunes - although traditionally inspired, are unusual.

Drawing her musical influence from the folk greats, Madbh's lyrics - though about her own life and experiences, can yet be superimposed over anyone of us and still be meaningful and relevant. Suffice to say, she has the ability to speak to us and on our behalf and use her silky vocals to soothe our hurt and celebrate our successes.

Having been primarily a solo/acoustic act, Madbh has built her backing band from specifically chosen musicians who she feels not only understand her musical ethos, but share in the ups and downs of life that together create the ultimately gorgeous human experience. It's no surprise that these musicians have been sought from The Lodge Arts Collective.
